Environmental Protection—Land
One of George Horne’s chief concerns was protecting public lands and preserving species habitats, in hopes of ensuring a future where large tracts of land would be unspoiled by development. We welcome organizations that are fighting for the future generations’ access to the natural world and all of its diverse ecosystems through programs that encompass everything from safeguarding old-growth forests to maintaining prairie grasslands and securing open spaces.
“A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers but borrowed from his children.”
—John James Audubon
